Quanjude is the historic name in Peking roast duck and the flagship on Qianmen Street is a tourist landmark in itself.

Among Beijingers the verdict is lukewarm: good, not great, and priced for its reputation. For the same money most locals head to newer places such as Siji Minfu.

Go if the history appeals to you; skip it if you just want the best duck.
